I posted about some of these products a while back, but I thought I would share a little more in-depth look at why and how I use them. I’m sure there are many other brands that give similar results but these are the ones that I’ve used and repeatedly produce results for me. Good results!! If you have a brand of eye cream or a favorite face wash, I wanna know about it! I am always up for new recommendations!
Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser – sometime I have to wash twice if I have a lot of makeup to remove. I have used this face wash for years now because it’s gentle but tough on grease and oil.
Burts Bees Blemish Stick – I love this little wonder. I can literally apply it to a budding pimple and overnight it will dry it out! The zit is usually killed before it even has a chance to start. I also apply it around my nose or other trouble spots just as a precaution. It’s a must!
I never knew the importance of skin texture until I worked with makeup artists. They love working with girls who have “easy, clear skin” because the makeup goes on like butter. Basically, perfect makeup starts with good skin! Of course, we don’t all have perfect skin, but there are definitely ways to improve that! By removing build up of dead skin cells and black heads, your skin is smoother and brighter. I’ve seen awesome results with these two product but honestly, there are probably other brands that would do the trick.
Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel – If you haven’t tried these yet, you gotta check them out. I bought the 14 day trial to test them out and I’m hooked. From the first time I used it, I noticed my skin was brighter, softer and smoother. After day 4, my skin had a whole new texture, feel and look. I stopped using it after day 4 (even though it was recommended using them for the 14 days) because I figured my results were good enough to stop and hold out for other times I needed them (and save money:) Now, whenever I feel like my skin is looking dull and worn, I have a go-to treatment that I know works. I can’t tell you enough how much I love these things!
Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant – Most of you are probably too young to use this product but I want to tell you about it because it’s always good to be aware of preventive measures. Now that I’m 30 (our little secret) I am always looking to minimize fine lines and give my skin a more youthful glow. This exfoliant does that with real microdermabrasion crystals, but for a fraction of what you’d spend in an office. I’ve seen it smooth away my dead skin cells and give me a more even skin tone. It’s the kind of product I use days before an important event that I want my skin to glow.
Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial – My family and I went to Colorado last month for our yearly ski trip. As you would expect, it was cold and dry. Of course, my skin was dead after a week of this kind of weather change and I needed a serious moisture surge! This Korres sleeping facial is the bomb! Apply a thin layer before bed, letting it work it’s moisturizing magic overnight. When you wake up, your skin feels like a babies butt (seriously it’s that soft.) I use it about once every two weeks and love how plump it makes my skin look. Korres is a great brand to check out if you don’t know them, they have other amazing products!
DERMAdoctor Wrinkle Revenge Rescue & Protect Eye Balm – Sephora has a great selection of skincare and plenty of professionals to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. I went into Sephora a couple of weeks ago looking for a new under-eye cream (I used this one before but didn’t want a product without SPF) and was introduced to the Dermadoctor brand. Apparently, it’s well-known for a exfoliant that removes those little chicken bumps that appear on the back of your arms and legs. Well, their eyebalm is pretty special also! It nourishes and softens my undereye area, giving it that radiant look we are all trying to acheive (bye bye dark circles). It even has caffeine in it to wake up those sleepy eyes and do away with bags left over from the Scandal marathon the night before. After a few weeks, I’m loving it but will get back to you with an update if necessary:)
Well, I hope this helps you on your skincare journey. And remember, if you have a product you love, I wanna hear about it?!? Let’s help each other:)
Cheers to clear, radiant skin!!
